BIOGRAPHY

Born in the city of La Paz, Baja California Sur (Mexico), Dr. Jalil Illan dreamed from an early age of becoming a great doctor taking as inspiration his father and seeking to follow in his footsteps. He has become an excellent and expert doctor who has positioned himself as one of the best surgeons worldwide.

Dr. Illan received his medical degree from the University of Baja California (Faculty of Medicine). He graduated at the top of his class and was recognized with the highest honors. Later he completed his studies in General Surgery at the General Hospital of Hermosillo, a city in the state of Sonora. During that time, he distinguished himself by publishing research articles on Obesity and General Surgery.

Subsequently, Dr. Illan has completed an intensive program in laparoscopic bariatric surgery with the world-renowned surgeon Dr. Juan Lopez Corvalá. Additionally, Dr. Jalil Illan completed advanced courses in both Laparoscopic Surgical Techniques and Laparoscopic Gastric Bypass at the prestigious Oswaldo Cruz Hospital in Sao Paulo, Brazil, which occupies a position as one of the most recognized health institutions in Brazil.

He has also completed advanced training in gastric bypass Mexico, laparoscopic adjustable gastric band, and vertical sleeve gastrectomy. Dr. Illan currently serves as Chief of Emergency Room Surgery at IMSS Regional Hospital #1 in the Mexican state of Baja California. And, of course, he is an expert in weight loss surgery in Mexico.
